About Eric Ulis

Eric began investigating the DB Cooper mystery about 10 years ago with the goal of gaining a better understanding of the facts in the case and bringing some clarity to the legend. Initially, he did not think he would actually identify a suspect.

During his research into the DB Cooper case Eric identified the actual 1980 money find spot on Tena Bar. The FBI had not recorded the spot during their investigation and ultimately it was lost to time until Eric pinpointed it in January 2019.

Recognizing that the 1978 placard discovery was an overlooked piece of valuable evidence, Eric arranged to have a mathematical analysis conducted to determine what could be learned regarding the flight path. This ultimately led to a conclusion that pointed to an actual flight path well west of the FBI's version of the flight path and dramatically modifies what we know about DB Cooper's caper.

Eric is the author of DB Cooper: The Definitive Investigation of Sheridan Peterson. Additionally, a dramatically updated and enhanced version of Definitive is being released in the Fall of 2019 under the title, Ghost: Unraveling the Enigma of DB Cooper.

Eric is the organizer of CooperCon ( https://DBCooperCon.com ) which is an annual event that brings experts and fans of the DB Cooper case together for a fun and informative weekend of all things Cooper. CooperCon takes place around Thanksgiving in Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. Also, Eric is the organizer of the annual DB Cooper Bout Tour which affords those interested in the DB Cooper story the opportunity to see the actual spot on Tena Bar where a portion of DB Cooper's ransom was discovered in 1980.

Eric was a commentator and producer on the TV show High Stakes Hold'em which aired nationally on Comcast SportsNet, and is a fan of politics, sports, a good drink and a good cigar. After putting college on hold for “far too long,” Eric matriculated at the Extension School at Harvard University.
